Another Piano Stool Makeover

Not long ago I bought two little antique piano stools from an Armenian diplomat who had listed them on Craigslist. He was leaving the country and was selling practically everything in his apartment. Comfy Upholstered Bedroom Bench

I’ve been longing for a comfortable and cushy upholstered bench in my bedroom for quite a while now.  It’s always nice to have a place to sit down in the bedroom besides the bed.  Unfortunately I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted in any furniture store in my area and ordering a bench or divan online would have been prohibitive, considering the shipping cost as well as customs taxes. Unfortunately however, the floorplan was already laid out and it wasn’t exactly how I would have designed it.  There are a couple of  difficult spots that seem to me like they are wasted spaces. One such area is the little useless niche underneath the stairs. It’s not really part of the living room but it isn’t part of the hallway either. After several months of analyzing, it ocurred to me that a couple of simple chairs might fit under there nicely and I could turn it into a separate little conversation area. Continue reading
